NATCO Announces Clinical Trial Results Demonstrating Positive Effects of Persimonal™ on Cardiovascular Health

The study, "The effects of a persimmon leaf oral supplement (Persimonal™) on cardiovascular health: a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study," published in HealthMED, supported use of persimmon leaf extract (Persimonal™) orally as a dietary supplement for the purpose of cardiovascular health improvement when used daily.

Persimonal™ is an advanced botanical extract of persimmon leaves made up of a highly therapeutic compound of flavonoids, polyphenols, tannins, terpenoids, organic acids, and carotenoids, naturally sourced from the leaves of Diospyros kaki Thumb (Persimmon).  The polyphenolic compounds of persimmon leaves are known to be anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, and cardioprotective, though the positive effect of Persimonal™ on blood pressure values and lipid profiles, specifically, were confirmed with this study.

Results showed that participants who were treated with Persimonal™ oral supplement had statistically significant reductions in mean blood pressure values compared to baseline values, and significant reduction in the total blood cholesterol values, after 180 days of daily use.  The data supports the view that Persimonal™ may be administered to patients as a potential cardiovascular dietary supplement.
