Gerald Deen Rios, known to his fans as Kymged, is an American-based artist hailing from Caracas, Venezuela.
What began as a playful hobby became his first occupation. At 15 years old, Gerald Deen moved to the Bronx area of New York City, migrating from Venezuela that was enduring economic hardships at that time.
Born in June 2000, Gerald discovered his musical affinities when he was only 10 years old. His initial ventures into the world of all things sonic began with him experimenting with various music-making apps and technologies, and he ultimately created his first instrumental track.
Kymged came to the American music scene in 2015 with a strong statement and a unique blend of reggae and Latin-influenced trap.
He decided that being a DJ could bring him experience, exposure, and an opportunity to polish his skills even further, so he picked up his gear and began searching for gigs in Bronx venues. Kymged did not miss a beat to work on building his name and career. Even while attending school, he would rap and freestyle during lunchtime.
In 2021, Kymged launched his first single called “Proteja”. Launched in the early months of 2021, the official video for this song went viral among Latin music connoisseurs and fans, reaching over 250,000 views on YouTube alone.
A year later, Kymged was even more prolific and released two singles, both of which became instant hits. With “Lealtad”, Kymged broke the ice, showing his fans that he’s as skilled with a microphone as he is with his wordsmithing talents. The song premiered on the 15th of January 2022 on YouTube and recently eclipsed 200,000 views.
Merely two weeks ago, Kymged launched his latest single called “Campeonato”. With this song, Kymged established himself among the most popular Latin American artists after “Campeonato” reached over 100,000 views in record time.
