New York, USA – July 27, 2022 – Amerigo Scientific, a distributor focused on providing critical products and services to the biomedical and life science communities, recently announced the release of the Allevi 1 Bioprinter for biomaterial printing. This desktop 3D bioprinter can print everything from collagen to PLGA with the smallest footprint and broadest material capabilities.
Three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting is the use of programmed machines to combine cells, growth factors, and biological materials to manufacture biomedical parts with unprecedented accuracy and precision. According to different prototyping principles and printing materials, the 3D bioprinting-based methods are mainly divided into extrusion-based, droplet-based and photocuring-based bioprinting.
Amerigo Scientific’s 3D bioprinters, from manufacturers developing revolutionary technologies, can not only build bioprinting platforms for researchers in the early stage, but also meet researchers’ advanced needs in regenerative repair, drug screening, tumor modeling, personalized medicine, and other areas. In fact, the new Allevi 1 Bioprinter is a desktop 3D bioprinter with the smallest footprint to assist scientist in printing everything they need from collagen to PLGA.
This bioprinter can control temperature from 4°C to 160°C. With cooled and heated temperature control, the Allevi 1 Bioprinter is able to print a wide range of bioinks, including collagen solutions, matrigel solutions, gelatin methacrylate, alginate, graphene, carbohydrate glass, polycaprolactone (PCL), and PLGA. While using the Allevi 1 bioprinter, researchers can choose to cure biomaterials in either visible or ultraviolet light, as the extruder houses two separate LEDs in the ranges of 365nm and 405nm. Furthermore, it is built around a compressed air pneumatic system, making it extremely easy to achieve clean starts and stops during printing. Nevertheless, its pressure ranges from 3 to 100 PSI to complement a wide range of viscous materials.
“In addition, it has an auto-calibration feature, by which you only need press calibration, and the Allevi 1 Bioprinter will do all the work for slide, petri dish and plate printing. Printheads of the Allevi 1 Bioprinter are also replaceable to allow the use of upgraded printheads upon future releases. It is designed with the Allevi CORE Detachable Extruder System, which accepts 5mL plastic or metal luer lock syringes and is optimized for all of the bioinks we offer,” introduced by Nina Cooper, the chief scientist at Amerigo Scientific.
