Whilst the company can rightly be confident in delivering high quality, bespoke goods, the greater challenge in recent times are those that we all have experienced or seen at some point, quite possibly without even realising we have.
Many of us will have noticed the significant delays for our online Christmas purchases to be delivered. Those delays caused frustration, complaints and probably a few tears when the football shirt you ordered from China didn’t arrive in time to go under the tree. For businesses such as Dale, the impact can be far more damaging, with some of their much needed supplies taking up to an additional 3 months to land at the Barnsley factory. During the pandemic, the demand for personal protective equipment (PPE) has soared, particularly orders for medical aprons that many people will have seen in hospitals and care homes.
The rise in demand has kept the South Yorkshire firm extremely busy, but the delays at UK ports post Brexit means that General Manager, Melanie Kemp is tasked with ensuring that the company can continue to deliver for our clients. Melanie told us,” the delays have presented a challenge, which we are assessing and tackling daily”. As a firm, we recycle wherever possible and by ramping up this ethos, not only are we able to minimise the reliance on materials being delivered to the factory in order for us to fulfil order, but it helps us to achieve our ongoing aim to help protect the impact that manufacturing has on the climate. Minimising waste is a key strategy for us and currently allows us to make sure that we are meeting our clients needs. We are hopeful that the government we find a resolution to the delays caused by the additional red tape associated with importing to and exporting from the UK, but until then, we will be doing everything we can to ensure that we deliver on time without compromising on the high quality and integrity of our products.”
