Readers are in for a sweet tale of what it means to have a genuine company with someone of a different age in his impressive picture book, “The Poppies on the Hill.”

Renowned author Ted Landkammer’s picture book, “The Poppies on the Hill,” a story that highlights cross-generational friendship and neighborly love, is now available in leading digital stores globally.

Readers across generations are in for a heartwarming tale about connections that transcend age with “The Poppies on the Hill,” an important book that also teaches young kids to help people in need.

The story revolves around Mrs. Brannigan, a sweet old lady who enjoys poppies and springs.

Mrs. Brannigan has always been a good friend to kids in the neighborhood. She would always wait at her door to give some cookies to the children who pass by on their way home from school.

The plot becomes more interesting when the old lady stopped coming outside. That’s when two children decided to check on her and found out that she is sick.

The two kids then decided to do something nice for Mrs. Brannigan. They planted some flowers on the hill and later took her to the place. Mrs. Brannigan was happily surprised to see them.

“Poppies in the springtime have always been such a wonderful sight to me! I always shout, “Look at the poppies!” Then, I saw an elderly lady standing by her wheelchair and lovingly looking at a field of poppies and singing a joyful song,” published author Ted Landkammer writes.

“I greeted her, and we sang a song together. We have been friends ever since. A fine lady enjoying spring and the joy of poppies. Join me as we laugh and play with the Poppies on the hill,” Landkammer adds.

The author’s picture book is a beautiful piece for grandparents who want to read a literary special with their grandchildren.

“Attractively illustrated, the book makes use of appropriately somber colors, including muted shades of red, orange, white, and purple for its flowers. Its figures have a nostalgic quality. Pages of text are set against a sky-blue background,” Foreword Reviews wrote.

It describes “The Poppies on the Hill” as a “heartfelt picture book that tenderly addresses human life cycles.”

Ted Landkammer is a father of three and a grandfather of six wonderful grandchildren.

For the last 30 years, he has told his kids, and now his grandchildren, great stories to remember.
