The International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum will hold its 2021 Hall of Fame induction in October, honoring 10 outstanding representatives of the towing and recovery industry in the United States, Australia and France, the museum stated.
The induction ceremony, suspended in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, will take place at the Westin Hotel in Chattanooga on Saturday, Oct. 9, during Museum Weekend, which is held in conjunction with the Tennessee Tow Show hosted by Tow Times magazine.
The 10 new Hall of Fame members are :
- Troy Barnett, president of Barnett's Towing LLC of Arizona.
- Ron Bressler, president of Bressler's Inc., a towing equipment distributor based in Pennsylvania.
- Stacey Tucker Canterbury, former owner of Chico Towing of Washington state.
- Tom Griffin, president of export sales at Miller Industries in Tennessee.
- Norman Horton, retired from Stormin's Damage-Free Towing in Alabama.
- Phil Howard, president, Howard's Wrecker Service and Body Shop in Georgia.
- Luc Le Baron, owner of Les Baron et Fils, a towing and recovery company in France.
- Rodney Pellow, president of Twin Cities Wrecker Sales Inc. in Minnesota.
- Antonio Re, managing director, Nationwide Towing & Transport, Glen Iris, Victoria, Australia.
- Sherry White, chief financial officer, Walt & Sherry White's Mission Pass Towing & Storage in California.
"The towing Hall of Fame is the highest honor in the industry, celebrating those who have worked hard to support and grow the professionalism of towing and recovery around the world," said Bill Gratzianna, president of the Towing Museum. Honorees demonstrate towing equipment/product innovation, exemplary dedication, industry leadership and professional achievement, according to selection criteria.
The Museum Weekend will take place Oct. 8-10 and includes not only the Hall of Fame induction ceremony and dinner on Oct. 9 but also the annual meet-and-greet fundraising auction on Friday, Oct. 8, and the Wall of the Fallen Name Unveiling Ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 9.
The last Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held in 2019, before the coronavirus pandemic. More than 300 individuals from across the globe have received the towing industry's highest honor. The tradition started in 1986 when the towing and recovery industry decided it was time to honor the men and women who've made a difference in the towing and recovery profession.
