New York, NY – Sona
On Saturday, the White Tiger star introduced her fans to SONA, a new restaurant that’s set to open in New York City in late March. “I’m thrilled to present to you SONA, a new restaurant in NYC that I poured my love for Indian food into. SONA is the very embodiment of timeless India and the flavours I grew up with,” the actress, 38, wrote on Instagram.
Springfield, VA – Restaurant 54
A PREIT spokeswoman said Restaurant 54, as it will be called, is expected to open this summer at 6795 Springfield Mall after doing some cosmetic updates to the space. The restaurant will sit between Chuy’s and Maggie McFly’s, two of at least seven outward facing restaurants at Springfield Town Center. Others include Yard House, Maggiano’s, Nando’s Peri-Peri, &pizza and arcade venue Dave & Buster’s.
Blue Ash, OH – Mighty Slider Bar
Chef Christian Gill is getting ready to open his third Cincinnati-area restaurant, coming to a $50 million development next to Blue Ash’s Summit Park. Gill is opening the Mighty Slider Bar in the $50 million Approach at Summit Park in Blue Ash, with plans to welcome diners this summer.
Pittsburgh, PA – Gordo’s Tacos & Tequila
This spring, Brian Gorder will be slinging Mexican-style street food and tequila cocktails in this two-floor taco joint.
Bangor, ME – Korean Dad
Bangor, Maine is host to all kinds of unique cuisine, ranging from Italian to Japanese food, as well as Mexican, Chinese and other cuisines. As of the spring of 2021, a new Korean restaurant, Korean Dad, will be joining the Bangor food lineup. This restaurant, opened by Changsu Kristopher Lee, will be the only Korean restaurant north of Portland. Lee has been cooking for his family for over 30 years, gradually increasing his skills in his home environment. Now, he is ready to take those skills to a larger audience, giving the people of Bangor authentic Korean tastes with homestyle cooking. Korean Dad will be located at 97 Center Street in Bangor, which is a prime location that is sure to bring in hungry customers.
Washington, DC – Yardbird Southern Table & Bar
Miami-based Yardbird Southern Table & Bar is finally ready to make its DC debut on April 1. The restaurant, whose famed fried chicken has earned James Beard nods and lines out the door at the South Beach flagship, takes over the former Acadiana space in Mt. Vernon Triangle. It will be the sixth Yardbird globally, and first in the Mid-Atlantic, joining locations in Dallas, Los Angeles, and Singapore.
