Signify Celebrates Second Year of Championing Nonprofits and Social Enterprises

New Service Added to Support Companies Who Want to Give Back
SMYRNA, Ga. - Oct. 1, 2018 - PRLog -- Signify, a copywriting and marketing consulting company for cause-focused organizations, is excited to announce a new service in honor of its second anniversary. Building on the momentum it has gained by working with nonprofits and social enterprises, they are now expanding their services to consult with solopreneurs and small business who want to incorporate philanthropy and giving strategies.

"This was a natural evolution to my work," says Chief Do-Gooder, Kristi Porter. "Because I was already working with causes, I began receiving requests from entrepreneurs and small business owners asking if I could teach them how to be more generous through their work. Cause marketing is a growing trend in the business world, and if I can show companies how to give back with a little, my hope is that they will only give more as they grow."

The Census Bureau's 2016 Study of Entrepreneurs found that 98.2% of firms employed less than 100 people, and 89% had less than 20 workers. Though classified as a small business, any nonprofit will stipulate that companies of that size can still have a sizable effect on their mission.

Porter believes that many of these businesses have a desire to be more philanthropic, but don't know how. Further, she asserts that social impact shouldn't only be left to large corporations who have a corporate social responsibility (CSR) department or foundation. Numerous studies indicate that both consumers and employees want companies to be engaged in charitable work, no matter their size.

"I regularly talk to freelancers, solopreneurs, and small business owners who have a desire to give back, they just aren't sure where to begin," states Porter. "That's where I can step in to guide them."

"It's an exciting mind shift when small business owners realize that whatever they have available right now to give is enough. They don't need large amounts of cash or volunteer time. Especially when aligning with small nonprofits, every available resource can be put to good use. Then it can also truly become a partnership."

Originally launched to support small, cause-focused organizations without marketing and communications staff, Signify is now bridging a new gap in its second year. By teaching companies easy and rewarding ways to give back with existing resources, it is ensuring that more nonprofits and social enterprises succeed. And when more people are doing more good, Porter believes we all benefit.
