The consulting group, which now numbers over 100 experts worldwide, has specialists in biodiesel, ethanol, emerging technologies, biomass power, renewable chemicals, biogas, anaerobic digestion, business and finance.

Joel Stone, the company's Director of the Renewable Chemicals Division, is also quite pleased with the new additions. Dodds has a Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry from the University of Toronto and over 30 years' experience. He serves on several advisory boards and has provided consulting services to many pharma, biotech and renewable chemicals companies. Dodds provides technical strategy, project management, and due diligence in organic synthesis, chiral chemistry, biocatalysts, synthetic biology, fermentation and strain development, industrial biotechnology and renewable / bio-based chemicals. Dodds will also be available as an expert witness in patent litigation matters in the area.

Newman has a Ph.D. in chemical engineering & chemical technology from Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine in London. He has over 35 years' experience - 17 years in the chemical industry leading multi-functional teams for the identification and commercialization of new chemicals, followed by 18 years working on the development & commercialization of new consumer products. Newman has been a frequent contributor to technical journals in the area of promising new consumer product applications using renewable materials and will assist the company's clients in commercializing ecologically sound products focusing on renewable sources, quality assurance, due diligence, and risk assessment.

Toon has a Ph.D. from the University of Denver and over 30 years of experience in industrial bioprocess management, business development, and process technology. He has successfully led over 20 product commercializations, leading multi-disciplinary teams for complex technology development and operations scale-ups within large corporations and VC backed start-ups. Toon currently advises a number of clients in the bio-based industry on projects ranging from angel investments through full scale commercialization. He began his career at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and has held executive roles with Gevo, OPXBio and Verenium. He will assist the company with project design, integration, development and management, transfer and scaling, and due diligence.

Cooker has a Ph.D. from Cambridge University and has worked in industrial process R&D, design and scale up for 35 years. He has worked with two biotechnology startups in deconstructing lignocellulosic biomass by high shear rates with enzymatic saccharification. Cooker also led the team which developed, piloted and costed a continuous saccharification process in segmented augers, and designed the continuous PP for furan intermediate dechlorination via a supported reduction catalyst. He is the co-inventor in two biotechnology process patent applications. Cooker will assist the team with economic assessments, project design, due diligence, risk mitigation and HAZOP analysis.

Senyk has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and over 25 years' experience in industrial biotechnology engineering and operations with large multinational corporations and small startups. He has scale up experience on more than fifty processes, including both lab-to-pilot and pilot-to-commercial scale projects. Senyk has worked with bacterial, yeast, fungal and protozoan hosts and has experience in continuous improvement and process optimization, the use of statistical techniques and design of experiments, evolutionary operations, and response surface modeling. He also has expertise in aseptic equipment design and is an instructor in ASME BPE.
