Anthracite Capital Declares Quarterly Cash Dividend of $0.30 Per Common Share

Anthracite Capital, Inc. (Anthracite or the Company) (NYSE:AHR) today announced that its Board of Directors (the Board) has declared a third quarter 2007 cash dividend of $0.30 per share of common stock. The common stock cash dividend will be payable on October 31, 2007 to stockholders of record on September 30, 2007. The annualized dividend yield is 13.6% based upon the $8.80 closing price of Anthracites common stock on September 5, 2007.

The Board also declared a cash dividend for the quarterly period ending October 31, 2007 of $0.5859375 and $0.515625 per share of Series C and Series D Preferred Stock, respectively. The Series C and Series D Preferred Stock cash dividends will be payable on October 31, 2007 to stockholders of record on October 10, 2007.
