dope.security today announced it has secured a patent for the fly-direct architecture that powers the dope.swg from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). The patent, USPTO Patent No. 11,431,755 titled Endpoint-Based Security, validates the company’s unique approach to Secure Web Gateway (SWG) architecture by performing security policy enforcement directly on the endpoint.

The patented dope.swg displaces legacy SWG architectures that intercept and reroute traffic through stopover datacenters for security checks and policy enforcement off-device. This archaic approach creates performance and reliability issues directly affecting the end user experience, and causes significant privacy concerns, decrypting sensitive content at a remote datacenter. The approach also builds dependencies into the architecture, making the Internet unusable in the event of an outage.

The dope.swg eliminates these performance, reliability, and privacy concerns experienced on legacy SWGs with a high-performance local enforcement engine to provide enhanced SWG functionality locally on device.

The Fly-Direct Architecture
