Polygon Launches Finity To Solve Web3’s User Experience Dilemma

Finity - a UI design hub devised to prototype, launch, and scale decentralized products without compromising usability, is the first product from Polygon's Cope.Studio acquisition and partnership with VC Brevan Howard co-founder Alan Howard

DUBAI, UAE / ACCESSWIRE / February 22, 2022 / In its latest move towards becoming the AWS for Web3, Polygon, an Ethereum scaling platform onboarding millions to Web3, today launches Finity, a rapid-build, user interface (UI) development tool that aims to deliver a much-needed facelift to UIs and user experiences (UXs) in Web3.

Finity is the first product to emerge from Polygon's recent acquisition of Cope.Studio - a deep-tech studio that brings together design, NFTs, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), and VR/AR with a focus on the Metaverse. To further accelerate launches from the acquisition, Polygon has forged a partnership between Cope Studio and VC Brevan Howard co-founder Alan Howard to create a "moonshot factory" for taking Web3 projects from an idea to product launch.

Web3 adoption has been hindered by poor UI design and UX, which remains a low priority for developers who need to focus resources on functionality. Nevertheless, the importance of design shouldn't be undermined. With decentralized apps (DApps) acting as a gateway into blockchain for many first-time users, ensuring a Web2-quality experience is crucial in the uptake and adoption of Web3.

Finity is designed to fill that whitespace, enabling developers to focus on crucial DApp features and functionality while ensuring the UI and UX are up to scratch. Finity combines an interconnected system of design elements that allows teams to quickly prototype, launch and scale their products without sacrificing aesthetics or usability. It offers tried-and-tested assets, elements, and templates, with a focus on 3D design. Its visual library allows elements to be used individually or with each other in perfect harmony.

Sandeep Nailwal, Co-Founder of Polygon, said: "Finity, born from our acquisition of Cope Studio last month, is the latest demonstration of how Polygon is on its way to becoming the AWS for Web3. We are providing a multichain approach with a multitude of services and solutions spanning scaling solutions, sidechains, blockchain toolings, and now a fully-specced out design hub."

Much of Web2's visual language, from the placement of elements to the choice of color palettes, is based on psychology. Finity allows dApp developers to tap into that well of familiarity - icons, symbols, typography, and much else besides - while also offering the freedom to invent new approaches unique to Web3.

Polygon has witnessed an explosion of decentralized applications of late, reaching a milestone of 7,000 decentralized applications (dapps) deployed on the network as of December - up from just 30 Dapps in 2020. While this is a hugely bullish sign for Polygon and Web3 adoption at large, it's also putting teams under pressure to ship products that prioritize functionality over design and user experience. Addressing those expectations will be vital in bringing Web3 to mainstream audiences.

Ethereum developers are already Polygon developers and can get started with Finity here and see demos at ETHDenver.
