Item 2.02. Results of Operations and Financial Condition
On April 19, 2007, Webster Financial Corporation issued a press release describing its results of operations for the fiscal quarter ending March 31, 2007. That press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
Item 8.01. Other Events
On April 18, 2007 Webster Financial Corporation announced that its Board of Directors approved an 11 percent increase in the regular quarterly cash dividend to $.30 per common share, up from Webster’s last quarterly cash dividend of $.27 paid on February 26, 2007. The dividend is payable on May 16, 2007 to shareholders of record on May 2, 2007.
