Sale of Roll Wrap Business
Wausau Paper Corp. has sold the roll wrap portion of its specialty products business to Cascades Sonoco, Inc. The Company will continue to manufacture roll wrap and related products for the buyer during a post-closing transition period which expires on July 2, 2008. The Company has retained the real property at its Columbus, WI and Jackson, MS production facilities and intends to sell the real property following completion of the transition period. After sale of the facilities, the impact of the transaction on earnings is expected to be neutral, while the ongoing effect of the transaction is expected to be slightly accretive to earnings as compared to recent historical operating results. The divested roll wrap business represents approximately 3% of the Companys annual consolidated net sales.
