ITEM 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
After ongoing consultation with Mark J. Tarr, President and Chief Executive Officer of Encompass Health Corporation (“Encompass Health” or the “Company”), as part of a succession plan in development for some time, on December 21, 2018, Cheryl B. Levy, Chief Human Resources Officer of the Company, delivered written notice that she intends to retire effective March 31, 2019.

“Since joining the Company in 2007, Cheryl has had a profound impact on Encompass Health contributing to its culture and growth to what is now over 40,000 employees,” said Mr. Tarr.  “The staff and structure she put in place during her tenure will have a positive influence for years to come.”

The Company is considering both internal and external candidates as part of a national search for a new principal human resources officer. Ms. Levy will assist with the search and will continue to serve as Chief Human Resources Officer until March 31, 2019.
