Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A.) to Merge with Mitsui Steel Holdings

Our wholly owned subsidiary Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A.), Inc. (“Mitsui USA”) has completed on October 1, 2007, to merge with Mitsui Steel Holdings, Inc. (“MSH”) an investment and management vehicle for our steel products business in the North America.

MSH was established on December 1, 2005 by both Mitsui USA (80%) and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (20%).

This merger was conducted in order to carry forward our steel products business strategy though the change in our management environment in the North America, as well as to maintain and to further build up our adequate internal control over our investment and management there.
