   InterContinental Hotels Group PLC ("InterContinental Hotels Group" or the
                                   "Company")
                          7 for 8 Share Consolidation


Application has been made for 370,437,207 InterContinental Hotels Group ordinary
shares of 11 3/7p to be admitted to the Official List of The UK Listing Authority
and to be admitted to trading on the London Stock Exchange. Application has also
been made for a further 3,472,944 InterContinental Hotels Group ordinary shares
of 11 3/7p to be block listed. The block listings consist of 1,548,522 shares
under the InterContinental Hotels Group Sharesave Plan and 1,924,422 shares
under the InterContinental Hotels Group Executive Share Option Plan. It is
expected that dealings in the new shares will commence on 12 June 2006.
