Business Owners Form Haltom United Business Alliance (HUBA)

New Group Seeking More Members to Help Promote Pro-Growth and Pro- Opportunity Agenda and to Assure Concerns of Local Business Owners Are Heard

HALTOM CITY, TX, February 10, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The backbone of Haltom City, Texas, is its many small and medium-sized businesses. A group of Haltom City business owners have decided to form Haltom United Business Alliance (HUBA) to represent all local businesses and to provide input and direction for the election of local officials who understand the concerns of Haltom City's business community.

"Many of our members report that they have had difficulties meeting the Haltom City's requirements for opening or expanding a business," says HUBA member and local business owner Andrew Weakley. He adds, "I've talked to one who actually moved from the city due to continued issues."

"When I was dealing with the city trying to get my business opened, I faced a lot of obstacles and my experience seems to be typical of what our other members have experienced more recently," said Weakley.

"Planning and zoning and even members of Haltom City Council tried to insert themselves into all my businesses affairs and couldn't seem to focus on the code issues at hand," added Weakley.

HUBA has already attracted a core of dedicated members but would like to continue to grow. "If you own a business in Haltom City, we want you to be a part of HUBA," said Weakley. The membership list of the group will be kept completely confidential. Dues are $20 per year or $50 for a lifetime membership.

"With the Haltom City Council preparing to hold hearings on the 10-year comprehensive land use plan, we really need to assure that business interests are represented in those discussions and as other key issues come up," said Weakley.

Those interested in joining, can learn more about HUBA by visiting HUBA's Facebook page and can inquire about joining HUBA via email at HUBAgrp@gmail.com. Building a good email list with contact information for local business owners will help HUBA communicate quickly and efficiently with stakeholders, according to Weakley.
