Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles to Host Exciting Electric Sea Fundraising Event

A special Electric Sea event will be held at the Aquarium of the Pacific to raise funds for the Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Long Beach, CA, February 13, 2020 – The Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles is hosting the Electric Sea fundraising event at the Aquarium of the Pacific on March 1, 2020, from 7 p.m. to midnight. Attendees of the Electric Sea event will enjoy a night of music, cocktails, and sea creatures.

This great cause is in an effort to raise funds to support the Marine Mammal Care Center. This non-profit rehabilitation center works to help save marine animals. It has provided a safe haven with house medical care to over 8,000 stranded seals and sea lions. The center is open to the public 365 days of the year for free animal viewings. MMCC LA is the only 24/7 marine mammal rehabilitation center in Los Angeles. Its main mission is to get injured and sick sea mammals back into their ocean habitats after healing them.

The event is a fundraiser for marine life working toward a goal of raising $1 million before June 1. The center will need to raise these funds for it to stay open past this date. All of the event proceeds will go towards this goal and the MMCC LA mission.

Amber Becerra, spokesperson for the Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles says, “It is our hope that this event will create a greater awareness of our efforts to help save Los Angeles’ sea mammal population. Without Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles, thousands of sea creatures would have to be sent to out of area care facilities. This would disrupt their healing habitat and delay their rehabilitation process. We are currently about halfway in meeting our fundraising goal, so we feel this event will be successful in saving our center’s sea mammal population.”

The Electricsea event is an exciting benefit show that will feature all-star performances by a variety of artists, as well as a secret guest headliner. The artist line-up includes performances by Corey Enemy, Dr. Woke, Lana Love, LeRome Swiss, and Mr. Kitty. During the event, guests will also have access to view the aquarium exhibits to interact with sea mammals. Open exhibits include stingray, jellyfish, and shark touch tanks.

Event sponsors include Discotech, Panda Gang, Frenzy Factory, GLOW, and Basscamp Festival. The Aquarium of the Pacific event space can hold up to 3,000 guests so the event planning committee is expecting a large attendance. The event is for guests 18 and older, with a no-host bar available for those over 21. Tickets are available for purchase on Eventbrite.
