By: PRLog
The Miami-Dade, Broward, & Palm Beach County Human Resource Chapters, (GMSHRM, HRABC, & HRPBC), have combined efforts using video conference calls to conduct workshops designed to help HR Professionals who are looking to surface HR interviewing opportunities in the state of Florida.
PRLog - June 9, 2015 - WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Three Southeast Florida chapters of SHRM, (Society for Human Resource Management), under the leadership of Darron Davis, West Palm Beach; Betsy Uliss, Fort Lauderdale; and Laura Marks, Miami; have joined together to assist HR Professionals who are actively seeking HR interview opportunities in the tri county area.

Davis, President of HRPBC, (Human Resource Association of Palm Beach County), believes, "We have a vast number of HR professionals representing innumerable employers and industries in the South Florida tri-county area. With our local HR chapters combining in this effort, we are positive that the collective knowledge and insights of our local HR community will be a huge benefit for those HR professionals who are in a career transition”. Parent entity, SHRM, a global affiliation representing over 275,000 members in over 160 countries, share a combined vision of proactively providing thought leadership, education and research to human resource professionals. The informal union of three HR chapters began six years ago as volunteer members, including a group of former SHRM chapter presidents, HR vendors and HR consultants, brought together by Michael Powers, an employee benefits consultant of LaRocca & Associates, Inc. and Gary Sapir, head of Integrated Performance Resources, Inc. united in order to launch a grass roots based outreach known as, "The Competitive Edge Series". Powers, earned HRPBC's 2012 HR volunteer of the year award for his outreach efforts.

As a way to continue offering workshops across all three counties, the panelists of the Competitive Edge began weekly video conference workshops known as the "Monday HR Happy Hour". In May, 2015, all three HR chapters begin to promote the outreach on each of their respective websites as a local tool to help members in transition.

The free workshops showcasing local SHRM chapter volunteers, authors, keynote speakers, and HR chapter leaders present on topics such as social media job search skills, video interviewing practice, professional differentiation and networking techniques. For more information on the “Monday HR Happy Hour Series” scheduled through 2015 to repeat every Monday at 6:30PM or how local HR associations are helping HR professionals, contact Michael Powers at benefitsmyke@gmail.com or visit www.hrinsidetrack.com, HRPBC.org, HRABC.org or GMSHRM.org.
