By: PRLog
PRLog - Feb. 26, 2015 - PHOENIX -- The American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC) held its annual Executive Meeting February 6th and 7th, 2015, in Avondale, Arizona.  More than 70 members of ACAC certification boards, operating board and national advisory board were in attendance.

“We welcomed board members from across the country who together represented more than 1,700 years of IAQ-related field experience,” said Charlie Wiles, ACAC executive director. “With that kind of leadership at the helm, we feel confident that we’re moving in the right direction.”

Today, a total of 121 IAQ professionals sit as board members for ACAC certifications.

During the two-day meeting, board members participated in cut score and validity studies for nine (9) ACAC certification examinations.  They also met in general session to discuss new certification programs and changes to existing programs.

ACAC currently offers 27 certification programs, 15 of which are third-party accredited by the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB).  Two of these are also accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), making them the only dual-accredited certification programs in the IAQ industry.

The American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC) is an independent, non-profit certifying body founded in 1992 to serve the indoor air quality industry.  ACAC offers third-party accredited personnel certifications in fields related to indoor environmental consulting, remediation and management.  For more information, visit the ACAC website at www.acac.org.
