Former Michigan Muslim Releases New Christian Album

Kareemah El-Amin Sets Out On Spreading Her Word Through Gospel Music
PRLog - Mar. 14, 2014 - DALLAS -- Michigan native Kareemah El-Amin, a former Muslim who converted to Christianity, is releasing her new gospel album today, “I Have No Tears for Me,” with her hit new single, “Walkin’ In Heaven”.

At a live, invitation-only concert on Friday, El-Amin (http://kareemahelamin.com) will share her music with her community at the Overflow Church in Benton Harbor, Mich.  Starting on Thursday, her EP/CD will be available for download on iTunes.

“I’m so excited that I will be able to share my music with the world,” said El-Amin who was raised as a Muslim but converted to Christianity in 2010. “I’ve been so looking forward to this moment. Three years ago, I struggled, experiencing a tug of war between past beliefs of Islam and the faith of Christianity. Now, I’m humbled and blessed to spread the word through my music.”

El-Amin, currently executive director of the Food Bank Council of Michigan, collaborated with Stellar Award-winning composer Matthew Brownie of Minstrel Productions, who is the co-writer of the hit song, “Never Would Have Made It,” by Marvin Sapp Billboard songwriter and Christian artist Carmen Calhoun, sings along with her in the upbeat, “Walkin' In Heaven." Dave Carlock of 27 Sounds, who is a Grammy Award winning engineer, rounds out her all-star team.

The new music offers rich, melodic inspirational messages, drawing off El-Amin’s strong faith and background as a singer, songwriter, author, playwright and filmmaker.  Already, her single, “Walkin’ in Heaven”, has received critical praise from radio stations and gospel music fans around the country.  In the months ahead, she will be traveling around the country sharing her music – and her gospel.

“I know this is my time,” El-Amin said. “I know it is time to share my journey of faith with others.”
