Dopamine & Oxytocin Hormone Molecule Necklaces & Keychains: Collection Announced

Rise Shed, an Australian-designed handcrafted jewelry retailer, has announced the launch of the DOSe hormone molecule jewelry line.

With the update, customers can now get Rise Shed’s innovative hormone molecule jewelry in both dog tag necklace and keychain form. The pieces feature the chemical diagrams of the DOSe hormones and are designed to help wearers improve their well-being.

According to Rise Shed, DOSe stands for Dopamine, Oxytocin, and Serotonin, otherwise known as the “happy hormone combination.” Biologically speaking, Dopamine is associated with pleasure and well-being, Oxytocin is associated with love and bonding, and Serotonin is associated with happiness and cheer. Rise Shed’s updated DOSe hormone molecule collection aims to infuse these qualities into one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry.

The necklaces and keychains in the collection are inscribed with the chemical formula diagrams of the hormones that they represent. For example, the Dopamine pendant has its C8H11NO2 formula molecular structure on it.

The products are shaped like dog tags and are made using high-quality surgical stainless steel. Additionally, the necklaces come with a 24” luxury military chain with an upgraded clasp, and the keychains come with a swivel attachment, both of which are also made using the same surgical stainless steel as the pendants.

The collection was inspired by the seventh season of the hit television show The Bachelor Australia, in which two scientifically inclined contestants swapped temporary tattoos and necklaces featuring the Oxytocin hormone.

Despite these origins, Rise Shed is quick to note that the necklaces and keychains themselves do not increase Dopamine, Oxytocin, and Serotonin levels in the body.

“We know that jewelry won’t bio-hack anyone,” said a spokesperson for the company. “Our hope is that the act of giving a gift to another person and having them receive it willingly will trigger a boost of these naturally occurring hormones for both of you. Just embrace your inner nerd and celebrate each other’s chemical geeky-ness.”
