WASHINGTON, D.C. - July 1, 2024 - Today, Builder's Club of Somerset, Ohio, and SaNDAI Cares announced a new strategic partnership focused on providing AI education and AI job opportunities in Appalachian Ohio. The Builder's Club will sponsor up to 50 Ohio high school students in SaNDAI Cares' DataGen Scholars Program, called DataGen Scholars: Ohio. Activities commence July 15, 2024, as part of the six-month program.
"DataGen is a solid initiative designed to prepare high school students for a workplace that incorporates AI and machine learning," said Trace Johnson, Co-Founder of the Builder's Club of Somerset.
During the program, students must complete 36 eLearning courses designed to inspire them to begin understanding data analytics and generative AI. All participants will receive industry certification as a data analyst, data scientist, or data engineer via SaNDAI Cares' corporate partner, DataCamp Donates. Program participants earn industry certifications and broaden their understanding of the tech industry through regular STEM workshops provided by our corporate partner, GiSTEM, Inc., and IBM's SkillsBuild platform.
"DataGen Scholars offers a significant space in education, effectively equipping high school students with essential technology skills," said Jeremy Williams, CEO of SaNDAI Cares. "We provide access to technology education and teach data analytics and generative AI skills that are now in demand. We desire to build a more inclusive and innovative community by investing in today's youth for tomorrow's careers."
"The most intriguing aspect of our program is the learn-and-earn model, which compensates participants for acquiring knowledge," Williams said. "After three months in the program, students are given paid hands-on work experience that legitimatizes their work credentials for their resumes and LinkedIn profiles."
SaNDAI Cares is preparing the next generation of innovators and problem solvers, ensuring they can thrive in an ever-evolving digital landscape. At the end of the program, they will have desirable skills to enter the job market and meet technological innovation needs.
“Ohio needs a program like this to help prepare our workforce of tomorrow. We see an opportunity to upskill hundreds if not thousands of students across Ohio via SaNDAI Cares’ DataGen Scholars program,” said Dr. Ahmed Adan, CEO of Tyneside Management.
Currently, 85 students participate in the DataGen Scholars program across D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. The goal is to enroll at least 50 students from every state in the DataGen Scholars Program in 2025.
