KidGlov Advertising Agency Podcast Hosts Mick and Judy

KidGlov, a boutique, full-service advertising, branding and content marketing agency based out of Lincoln and Omaha, Neb., recently welcomed Mick and Judy Guttau of TS Bank to its podcast, Agency for Change. The episode explored how the Guttau's purchased the bank in 1978 and in the decades since, developed a banking culture ingrained with the community.

"For nearly 100 years, TS Bank has truly been in service to the community," said Katie Ripa, KidGlov vice president account director. "TS Bank has built a reputation around giving back through financial literacy classes and community reinvestment. It was fascinating to hear from Mick and Judy about their community-first approach to banking."

TS Bank’s goal is to IGNITE PROSPERITY® in the communities it serves by reinvesting 10 percent of its net income locally; hosting educational events and partnering with organizations and nonprofits. TS Bank was chartered in 1923 and has $385 million in assets, along with the largest Iowa state-chartered C-Corp trust department west of Des Moines at nearly $230 million in assets. Locations include Treynor, Macedonia, Council Bluffs, Atlantic, Corning and Ames, Iowa.

During the Agency for Change podcast, Mick and Judy Guttau share their story of purchasing the bank over 40 years ago and the incredible programs the bank has initiated over the years from an educational 55+ social club and county fair watermelon feed to financial literacy advocacy, including the TS Institute, a program that has helped tens of thousands of school children learn about personal finances.

"We are a family-owned, community bank," said Judy, who continues to serve on TS Bank's board of directors. "I emphasize 'community' because we really want to help our community grow and ignite prosperity."

Mick Guttau now serves as TS Bank's board chairman and continues to be an advocate for the community. "We now have banks in Wisconsin and Illinois and North Dakota. We have offices for our wealth management in Denver and San Francisco and Omaha, and so we are located in many areas, but we try to drive the premise that the community is what's important and that's who we're trying to serve," he said.
