Interim HealthCare’s Jennifer Sheets Honored with Gold Stevie® at the 2023 American Business Awards®

Sheets recognized for her visionary leadership and advocacy for improved access to home healthcare services

Interim HealthCare Inc., the nation’s leading franchise network of home care, senior care, home health, hospice and healthcare staffing services, today announced that CEO and President Jennifer Sheets received the Gold Stevie in the “Woman of the Year – Consumer Services” category at the 2023 American Business Awards®.

Sheets’ goal throughout her 25-plus year career has been to keep people from falling through the cracks of the healthcare system, work that she’s continued to build on through advocacy efforts since the start of the pandemic. In response to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) proposed rate cuts to the Medicare home health benefit announced in June 2022, she quickly joined together with the CEOs of other top home healthcare companies to push back – work that still continues today. Most recently, she convened in April in Washington, D.C. alongside hundreds of stakeholders to speak to the impact that additional proposed cuts for 2024 will have on patient care and access, particularly for small, rural, and medically underserved communities.

Amid ongoing healthcare worker shortages, Sheets remains committed to supporting home health clinicians and caregivers, ensuring adequate federal funding to sustain competitive wages. Her fight for better reimbursement rates will enable home care agencies to tap into a larger talent pool of people who are looking for renewed value and purpose in their healthcare careers. Under Sheets’ direction, Interim HealthCare ranked No. 1 in Senior Care for the fifth consecutive year on Entrepreneur’s 2023 Franchise 500®, owing to its higher quality of care and increased patient and franchisee satisfaction.

“I am grateful to receive this recognition and have the opportunity to continue elevating the home healthcare industry,” said Sheets, CEO and president of Interim HealthCare. “The bare minimum of funding that our industry receives undervalues its superior health outcomes for patients and perpetuates low wages for our workers. I am on a mission to ensure more people have access to this level of care and know that there is an option for them, where they can receive meaningful care in the comfort of their home and presence of their loved ones.”

Judges recognized Sheets for being “a visionary leader in the healthcare industry” who has “tirelessly advocated for improved access to home healthcare services, even fighting against proposed rate cuts that threatened patient care. Under her leadership, Interim HealthCare has experienced exponential growth and recognition, claiming top spots on various franchise rankings.” Further, Sheets was applauded for her “diligence, commitment and integrity that [she] puts into her work to benefit the market as a whole and ultimately the care experienced by vast washes of the population.”

This year’s Stevie Awards featured more than 3,700 nominations and 230 judges. A full list of the gold, silver and bronze winners can be found here: https://stevieawards.com/aba/2023-stevie-award-winners.
